How a book becomes a Durar summary
A summary is a set of decisions about what matters in a book. Here is how those decisions get made, and who makes them.
STEP 1
An editor reads the whole book
Not the blurb, and not other summaries. Every Durar summary starts with a full read and a set of notes.
STEP 2
The key ideas are chosen, and the rest is left out
We keep the argument, the evidence that makes it convincing, and the practical steps. We leave out repetition, anecdotes that only illustrate, and padding.
STEP 3
Written for the language, not translated word for word
Arabic and English summaries are each written to read naturally in that language, with the terms readers actually use.
STEP 4
Checked against the book
A second person reads the summary against the source for accuracy: names, numbers and claims.
STEP 5
Narrated and released
The audio is recorded from the final text and split into the same chapters, so text and audio always match. Both go live together.
What a summary is not
It is not a replacement for the book. When a book deserves the full read, the summary says so and links to where you can buy it.
